Filipinos working abroad are rising in numbers year by year. Among my
batchmates in college, every now and then I hear someone moving to
another country to work. Fascinating isn't it? Noone wants to work in
the Philippines anymore. Everybody's working abroad to earn more money.
So what will happen to the local industry if all the good bright
workers hve gone abroad?
Are filipinos conquering the world, building filipino communities in
every country? Will they come back to Philippines after working abroad?
I myself am working abroad and have asked such questions. At first I
wanted to go back to Philippines to grow old. I see myself working in
Japan as a temporary thing, just a leverage for me to save some and go
back build a better life in my home country. But as time passes by, it
gets harder and harder for me to leave this country. As I stay longer
here, the more roots I make here, the deeper roots I build the harder
for me to leave this soil.
Does every overseas filipino worker fill the same? maybe... definitely... my answer would be 99% of them feels so...
