I like my job when I was assigned to my first project. After that, I am clueless as to what kind of challenges will come along the way. My first project just finished and I would not say it went out bad nor perfect. Let's just say the project went fine, at first it was tough but then after a few weeks it settled down. With my current job, I was able to go on a business trip to Singapore for a couple of days. I like business trips because it gives me the opportunity to go to another country without having to pay for my own airfare and hotel. I like flying and collecting mileage. I like staying in hotel because I miss sleeping on a bed, I usually sleep on futon, a japanese bed. I enjoy messing up the perfectly neat hotel room and having breakfast, and when I get back to the hotel after a day's work my bed is all made up again and the bathroom is clean as new. I long for another business trip. After my first project finished, the sales guy told me there's a new project that will open opportunities for business trip to Singapore and Mumbai. This got me pretty excited since the possibility of getting into that project is high. The project requires English speaking ability since the client is US based and does not speak Japanese at all. But then, it turned out my boss assigned somebody else. It was a big disappointment. My ideal job is a combination of what I do in my previous project plus business trips to other places. I like having business trips at this time of life because I do not need to bother about my family since I am single. So the best time is now plus a few years after. My ideal working environment is one that is friendly and casual and most important of all, everyone speaks English. Now I am thinking I am in the wrong country. In fairness, my co-workers can speak English but their preference is to speak in their native tongue. I am looking for a job where I will be put in a team of expatriates. Better yet, I am looking for a job in a regional office where I will be able to talk to different liaisons in another country. I think that will help me reach my dream of getting into a position that is in charge of regional office. For the meantime, I'll work on improving myself. Learn more about IT logistics.
